‘He Has Run a Terrible Campaign’: Fox News Contributor Declares DeSantis Run Over
Fox News contributor Charles Hurt declared the presidential campaign of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over before the primaries even started.
Hurt joined Fox Business on Tuesday morning, where Ashley Webster brought up the polls showing Donald Trump still in the lead despite Nikki Haley’s recent momentum. As Hurt assessed that Trump has a decisive hold over most of the Republican Party, he added that voters are “appalled at the political system” propping up candidates like Haley and DeSantis.
Hurt concluded that DeSantis and Haley are done, and can only hope to get second place in the primary field. Webster then turned to DeSantis’ efforts to concentrate on Iowa ahead of the January caucus.
“Doesn’t seem to be making a lot of impact,” Webster said before Hurt agreed the Florida governor’s run has failed to live up to its expectations.
“It’s truly amazing, especially when you look at the record he’s established in Florida, but he has run a terrible campaign,” Hurt said. “The more you look under the hood and you look at the mechanics of the way they have spent money, the way they raised raised money, the way they’ve operated. It is the most disappointing campaign, mechanics-wise, that I have ever seen.”
