‘He Loves Xi!’ Joe Scarborough Torches Trump for TikTok Flip-Flop and Letting the Chinese Control ‘the Minds of Our Youth’

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough torched former President Donald Trump for reversing his stance on TikTok, even exclaiming that Trump “loves” Chinese dictator Xi Jinping during a segment on Monday morning.

Scarborough began by expressing disbelief that the United States continues to allow the Chinese-owned social media company to operate in the country.

“Again, would we allow the Chinese Communist Party to run one of the major networks? No. Would we allow the Chinese Communist Party to own a cable news site ?” asked the Morning Joe host rhetorically. “Just go down the line. In this case, though, it’s even more dangerous, I believe, because you’re talking about algorithms. Algorithms that push certain political views towards younger Americans, towards less educated people, towards those that the communist Chinese- I can’t believe I’m even saying this! The Chinese Communist Party has an open door into millions and millions of Americans’ phones, and they’re feeding them propaganda pushed by algorithms that we don’t understand,” said Scarborough.

Andrew Ross Sorkin followed by submitting that “one of the reasons” that “Trump is in favor of keeping TikTok in service is because it is pushing a lot of content towards people to suggest that President Trump is the right choice and that President Biden is the wrong choice.”

“So 2016, Vladimir Putin wanted to have a big influence in the election, did it through, of course, lies and disinformation. Now Donald Trump wants the communist Chinese party. I mean, Donald Trump supports a communist Chi- because, you know, he loves Xi,” declared Scarborough in reply. “Even during the early days of Covid, he said ‘Xi, he’s so transparent. The American people thank you, President Xi.’ Now he’s telling President Xi, have the communist Chinese government have even more power by controlling the minds of of our youth, controlling the minds of uneducated Americans. It’s pretty, pretty fascinating for those that may be on TikTok that may not actually follow the news.”

In July 2020, Trump told reporters that he planned to ban the company “from the United States” over interconnected privacy, informational, and national security concerns.

Trump reversed himself on this issue last Thursday, though, warning that “if you get rid of TikTok, Facebook and Zuckerschmuck [Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg] will double their business.”

“They are a true Enemy of the People!’ he concluded.
