‘Heated Start’: Hecklers Disrupt House Hearing on Anti-Semitism Demanding a ‘Ceasefire Now’

Fox News on Wednesday reported on pro-Palestinian protesters disrupting a House hearing on anti-Semitism, which anchor John Roberts noted got off to a very “heated start.”

“A heated start to a House hearing on the growing anti-Semitic trend in some of our colleges and universities. Several hecklers disrupted the proceedings that initially prevented witnesses from speaking,” Roberts began, adding:

Eventually, lawmakers did get to hear from students and experts about what they are witnessing on campuses across the country. Our Hilary Vaughn live on Capitol Hill. And the increasing divisions in American society in full display today. Hillary.

Vaughn then reported, “You’re right. This hearing today kicked off to kind of an ironic start having pro-Palestinian protesters shout over Jewish college students invited here today by lawmakers to testify about the threats, the attacks, and the anti-Semitism that they’re experiencing on campus.”

“But talking here today, sharing their viewpoint, they found just as difficult here on Capitol Hill as they do back on campus. These students told lawmakers that many of them have seen swastikas on campus. They don’t think universities have their back and are doing enough to shut down these anti-Semitic attacks. But Republicans on the committee said that these massive organized pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel protests are being funded by somebody and they want to follow the money,” Vaughn added before playing some clips from House members railing against the recent protests on campuses.

After one House member defended Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) after last night’s censure, Vaughn continued:

But of course, Tlaib was censured in part for using the phrase, “from the river to the sea,” which is part of the Hamas charter and used by terrorists to call for the destruction of Israel, Israel and the genocide of the Jewish people.

“Yeah, she had declared that that was an aspirational slogan. A lot of her colleagues, it would seem as well as a lot of other Americans disagree with that. Hilary, thank you, as always. Appreciate it,” Roberts concluded.

Anchor Sandra Smith then played a highlight reel of various protesters interrupting the hearing.
