‘How Are You Today?’: Spicer Gives April Ryan First Question Following Heated Confrontation
Coming off of yesterday’s testy exchange with Sean Spicer, American Urban Radio Networks reporter April Ryan seemed slightly surprised when the Press Secretary allowed her to ask the first question at Wednesday’s press briefing.
Spicer had a heated moment with Ryan on Tuesday when he told her to “stop shaking your head” and accused her of having a political agenda. Following that exchange, Ryan said that the dust-up exemplified the White House’s negative relationship with the political press, while Spicer offered compliments to Ryan, saying she is a “tough reporter” who he respects.
Spicer gave Ryan the floor first today, and the whole room snickered as the two asked each other how they were doing after their last meeting. Ryan eventually got around to her questions, which focused on tax reform and how the White House feels about calls for Devin Nunes to recuse himself from the House Intelligence Committee’s investigation into President Trump.
