James Comer’s Running Scared From Steve Doocy Shows Just How Weak His Case Is

During a Tuesday night appearance on Newsmax, James Comer revealed that he is refusing to appear on Fox & Friends because he does not like Steve Doocy’s tough questions on Biden’s impeachment.

The topic came up after former Fox News host Eric Bolling — who, since his firing from Fox, has turned Fox-bashing into a favored past time — took a shot at Doocy. “Forget the Democrats like Dan Goldman who say there’s no evidence,” Bolling noted, “My concern is when the media, especially the conservative media, starts siding with the Bidens. Listen to Steve Doocy over at Fox saying you don’t have evidence.”

Bolling then ran a clip of Doocy, who said on Fox & Friends, “The Republicans at this point don’t have– they have a lot of ledgers and spreadsheets, but they have not connected the dots. They’ve connected the dots, the Department of Justice did on Hunter, but they have not shown where Joe Biden, you know, did anything illegally.”

“Why would Doocy say, after all the work you’ve done, that you have nothing?”  Bolling asked, to which Comer replied:

He’s had that position from the very beginning. I’ve quit going on Fox & Friends because of Doocy, you know? I mean, he’s the one guy on Fox that’s been very critical of the investigation. I have my theory why, and we’ll talk about that at a later point, but at the end of the day, he’s entitled to his opinion, but I don’t think the average viewer of Fox News agrees with Doocy one bit.

Steve Doocy has asked tough questions of Comer’s claims and covered this story with a healthy dose of skepticism. The impeachment of a sitting president is a very serious and potentially destabilizing ordeal. It is also true that there appears to be plenty of evidence that Hunter Biden was an entitled and unhinged substance abuser who is under multiple federal indictments.

Still, there is no hard evidence yet that his father, Joe Biden, has been a part of any “influence peddling” or criminal behavior as put forth by Comer’s House Oversight Committee.

And don’t just take my word for that; that’s the takeaway from Republican Rep. Lisa McClain, who said the very same thing to Maria Bartiromo. McClain sits on the same oversight committee that Comer serves as chair, so she has seen the receipts, or lack thereof, whatever the case may be.

The truth is that Steve Doocy has journalistic standards. He is regularly committed to the truth and not political smears, as he should be. He is very much a conservative voice — anyone who watches Fox & Friends regularly can see that as clear as day.

But that doesn’t mean he’s willing to amplify a narrative about corruption without any evidence,  making Doocy an outlier from the network’s other opinion hosts — especially on prime time — who appear far more interested in scoring partisan points on a narrative that is not yet supported by facts.

As of late October, James Comer had appeared on Fox News over 200 times since the start of the year. That’s a stunning number of hits and reveals the cable news networks’ commitment to this story.

The fact that Comer doesn’t want to appear on the top-rated cable news morning show because he doesn’t like Doocy’s fair questioning? It reveals what an absurd clown show this guy is running.
