Joe Scarborough Accuses Speaker Mike Johnson of Putting ‘Jews’ Lives in Danger’ to ‘Protect Billionaire Tax Cheats’ in Fiery Commentary

Joe Scarborough ripped into Speaker Mike Johnson by accusing him of defending “billionaire tax cheats” and letting Jewish people twist in the wind in order to pick a fight with President Joe Biden.

The diatribe began on Tuesday as Morning Joe looked at reports that House Republicans are pushing a new bill to provide $14.3 billion in emergency funding for Israel. NBC notes that these funds appear to be drawn as an offset from the IRS’s budget under the Inflation Reduction Act.

The bill is likely to face stiff resistance from the Democrat-majority Senate, and this Republican bill’s focus on funding solely for Israel breaks with the supplemental funding request Biden is seeking for Israel and Ukraine.

Scarborough called this “breaktaking” as he boiled this down to “[House Republicans are] gutting the IRS’ ability to go after rich billionaire tax cheats!” He kept this going by accusing Johnson of hypocrisy and failing to object when former President Donald Trump’s policy decisions shot up the national debt.

Eight billion dollars Mike Johnson and Donald Trump gave America in debt! And now suddenly, he won’t even help Jews protect themselves. It is so gross! And, making it even grosser, he says this is what we’re going to do. We’ll protect the Jews if you protect the billionaires. We want billionaire tax cheats to get away with stealing more money from the American people! So we’ll let you protect the Jews, Joe Biden, but you have to let us protect our donors, our billionaire donors that are tax cheats! I’ve never, truly, heard of a dumber plan to start a speakership than to put Jews’ lives in danger so you could protect billionaire tax cheats.
