John McCain Mocks Tea Party, Sharron Angle, And Christine O’Donnell On Senate Floor
Senator John McCain, the former GOP presidential nominee who selected current Tea Party darling Sarah Palin as his running mate, addressed his fellow senators today, quoting a Wall Street Journal editorial that stated “Republicans who oppose Boehner’s debt deal are playing into Obama’s hands.” The article also offers a fun look at what’s going on in The Shire these days. Someone is certainly sore he missed Comic Con this year:
The Republican House that failed to raise the debt ceiling would somehow escape all blame. Then Democrats would have no choice but to pass a balanced-budget amendment and reform entitlements, and the tea-party Hobbits could return to Middle Earth having defeated Mordor.
After reading this, McCain added that “This is the kind of crack political thinking that turned Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell into GOP Senate nominees.” But, hm. Perhaps politicians in glass Wasilla hunting lodges shouldn’t be lobbing stones?
