Lanny Davis Accuses Rudy Giuliani of Witness Tampering Former Client Michael Cohen

On Thursday, Michael Cohen‘s former attorney, Lanny Davis, made criminal accusations against President Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani over Cohen’s postponed testimony before Congress.

Davis spoke to George Stephanopoulos about how Cohen cited concern for his family’s physical well-being when he announced pushback of his upcoming congressional hearing. Davis said Cohen isn’t afraid of the “partisan hack questions” he’d face from Republicans, but said the House has an “obligation” to bring a “resolution of censure” against Trump and Giuliani for their recent, threatening comments towards the Cohen family.

“When the President of the United States indisputably intimidates and obstructs justice to prevent a witness from testifying is an order, so is a federal investigation investigation of Rudy Giuliani for witness tampering. Calling out a man’s father-in-law and wife in order to intimidate the witness is not fair game.”

Davis argued that the basis of Cohen’s fear is rooted in the fact that the president is personally attacking his father-in-law. As for whether Cohen will be forced to speak with a subpoena, Davis cited multiple legal issues surrounding his cooperation, but insisted “make no mistake, Michael Cohen will speak. They will not thwart this truth coming out.”
