Mark Halperin Out at NBC, MSNBC After Sexual Harassment Allegations

After roughly a dozen women came forward to accuse Mark Halperin of unwanted kissing, groping, and grinding — often in a workplace setting — NBC News and MSNBC have cut ties with the journalist, according to CNN.
These sexual harassment allegations were initially reported by CNN, as five women told reporter Oliver Darcy about their inappropriate experiences with Halperin. The majority of these alleged incidents occurred while he was the political director at ABC News in the 1990s — a position that granted him tremendous power over those who wished to work their way up the totem pole.
Halperin has since apologized for his actions, saying, “In recent days I have closely read the accounts of women with whom I worked at ABC News. In almost every case, I have recognized conduct for which I feel profound guilt and responsibility, some involving junior ABC News personnel and women just starting out in the news business.”
Prior to NBC cutting him off — Halperin was a senior political analyst for the network — the rest of his media world crumbled as HBO shot down an upcoming project with the journalist, Penguin Press cancelled his 2016 election book, and Showtime announced he will no longer be on their show The Circus.
