Nicolle Wallace Rips Trump Over Jab at Bush 41: You Wouldn’t Recognize Decency ‘If It Spoke Russian’

MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace, who worked in the Bush 43 White House, fired back at President Donald Trump today over his mocking jab at Bush 41.

During the President’s rally last night, he mockingly brought up George H.W. Bush‘s famous “thousand points of light” push for volunteerism and said, “I never quite got that one.”

“I’m sorry, it’s called decency,” Wallace shot back, “and you wouldn’t recognize it if it spoke Russian.”

Former independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin said Trump is essentially “attacking goodness… because he doesn’t want to be held accountable for his depravity.”

At one point, McMullin noted how far removed Trump is from the Republican party of the recent past and the conversation touched on Fox News:

WALLACE: This is where he outfoxes Fox. I mean, the 41st president was close for a period of years with Roger Ailes… but Trump is grosser than even some of his closest allies in the far right and fringy-right media.

AP REPORTER JONATHAN LEMIRE: Is there any reason to suspect they won’t go with him? I mean, there’s been very few…

WALLACE: I don’t know. I mean, I’ll be surprised tonight if Sean Hannity defends the attacks on the 41st president’s charity.

LEMIRE: Sure, but I would be equally surprised if he actually condemns them either. He probably just lets it go.

Wallace then spoke directly to Hannity, saying, “Let us know where you stand, Sean. Tweet me, text me, air another clip tonight––I love it when you do that.”
