During his joint press conference with President Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin said the subject of “so-called interference” in U.S. elections came up during their meeting.
“President Trump mentioned the issue of the so-called interference of Russia in the American elections, and I had to reiterate things I said several times, including during our personal contacts, that the Russian state has never interfered and is not going to interfere in internal American affairs, including election process.”
Yesterday on ABC, U.S. national security advisor John Bolton said it’s hard to believe such meddling took place without Putin’s knowledge.
During Trump’s remarks, the U.S. president said he and Putin spent a “great deal” of time discussing Russian meddling.
