Steve Bannon Gives ‘Whining’ George Santos Advice For Surviving Prison
MAGA firebrand and former Trump advisor Steve Bannon offered some advice to disgraced ex-GOP congressman George Santos ahead of his upcoming prison term – “stop whining!”
Santos was sentenced to 87 months in federal prison in April for wire fraud and identity theft and must also pay nearly $374,000 in fines and restitution, after he was convicted of defrauding donors, fabricating his résumé, and misusing campaign funds.
He was expelled from Congress in December 2023, having represented New York’s 3rd District, which includes parts of Queens and Nassau County, Long Island.
Ahead of his order to report to prison in July, Santos has given several interviews, including a teary-eyed appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored where he admitted he was terrified of going to prison while appealing to President Donald Trump for a pardon.
Bannon, who served four months in prison and was released in October, was interviewed by ex-GOP congressman-turned-podcaster Matt Gaetz on Thursday.
After the host imagined that Bannon quickly became a “mafioso style cell block leader” when behind bars, the MAGA personality warned that would mean crossing “real guys that do that” before offering some advice to Santos.
“What you have to do, and this is my thing to George Santos, you got to stop whining,” he said.
He continued: “You just got to walk in there, you have to know yourself and you have to be totally, completely focused every second of the day because these places are incredibly violent.”
