The West Wing Goes Left Wing: Cast of Hit Show Endorses Clinton

screen-shot-2016-09-21-at-5-34-58-pmIf you live in Ohio, this weekend could be fun for you. Six cast members from NBC’s influential political drama The West Wing will be in that state to stump for Hillary Clinton. (Bonus fact: Since it started in 1999, she was still First Lady when it began!)

Per VarietyRichard Schiff, Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford, Dulé Hill, Joshua Malina, and Mary McCormack will be traversing the Buckeye State to encourage residents to vote. On Saturday, they’ll be around Mahoning Valley, Cleveland, Sandusky, and Toledo. Sunday is for the Dayton and Columbus areas.

Historically, the cast has always been open to reliving the glory days from the show. Janney, for instance, still regularly does impersonations and makes jokes for the benefit of fans. The entire cast gets together from time to time to honor special events featured in the program. Earlier in this summer, during a cast reunion, there were jokes about how Martin Sheen‘s presidential character would have absolutely endorsed Clinton.

Obviously, they are vocal about their positions on — and within — politics, so it isn’t surprising that they’re all getting together to do this for her.
