Trump ‘So Disappointed’ in Julia Roberts Over ‘Cringe’ Pro-Harris Ad Encouraging Women To Hide Votes From Husbands
Former President Donald Trump told Fox & Friends he’s “so disappointed” in actress Julia Roberts after she narrated a pro-Vice President Kamala Harris ad encouraging wives to vote Democrat and not tell their husbands.
Roberts narrated an ad released by the progressive evangelical group Vote Common Good and features two women secretly casting votes for Harris.
“Did you make the right choice?” a husband wearing a baseball cap with a bald eagle asks his wife in the ad after she votes.
“Sure did, honey,” she replies.
“Remember, what happens in the booth, stays in the booth,” Roberts ends the ad with. “Vote Harris-Walz.”
Trump joined Fox & Friends on Friday by phone and called the ad “so stupid” and predicted Roberts would look back and “cringe.”
“I’m so disappointed at Julia Roberts because I love — she’s going to look back at that and she’s going to cringe. ‘Did I really say that?’ It doesn’t say much for her relationship, but I’m sure she has a great relationship, but the wives and husbands, I don’t think that’s the way they deal. I mean, can you imagine a wife not telling her husband who she’s voting for? You ever hear anything like that before?” Trump said.
Roberts has been married to cinematographer Daniel Moder since 2002.
The ad narrated by Roberts is similar to another pro-Harris ad narrated by her Ocean’s Eleven co-star George Clooney. The filmmaker encouraged men to hide their Harris votes from their Republican friends in that ad, which was released by the same group. The ad features a group of men going to cast their ballots.
“Come on boys. Let’s make America great again,” one friend tells the group.
“Before you cast your vote in this election, think about how it will impact the people you care about the most,” Clooney says in the ad as one of the men looks at a family photo while deciding who to vote for.
“You do your patriotic duty?” one of the friends asked after they voted.
“You bet I did, brother,” the friend who voted Harris says.
