What a day for Michael Flynn, right? It was reported earlier that he would be pleading guilty to one count of lying to the FBI, which could be a sign that he is turning against President Donald Trump to cooperate with Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.
As a matter of fact, it has also been suggested that he will testify that Trump actually directed him to contact Russia during the campaign, or throughout the transition period, which could be a brutal blow against the president.
Well, he formally pleaded guilty, and even released as statement, saying “my guilty plea and agreement to cooperate with the special council’s office reflect a decision I made in the best interest of my family and my country.”
Just how bad has it been for Flynn today? Check out the video above.
On his way out of the courthouse, a heckler began chanting “lock him up,” an obvious nod to Flynn’s infamous moment at last year’s Republican National Convention, in which he led a chant that suggested Hillary Clinton ought to be locked up for her alleged misdeeds.
He’s not the only one. At several points throughout Flynn’s speedy exit from the courthouse, you can hear other chants of “lock him up,” along with one sad, plaintive wail of “Michael.”
Just a reminder, Flynn once said, about Clinton, “If I did a tenth of what she did, I would be in jail today.”
Well, pot meet kettle, glass houses and all of that. Good luck, man.
