WATCH LIVE: Trump Holds Joint Presser With Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull

President Donald Trump will appear at a joint press conference with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull at the White House on Friday.

Trump’s joint presser’s with foreign leaders have a precedence for racuousness, and tough questions from the domestic and foreign press usually make for a good spectacle.

The U.S. president’s presser with Turnbull has an added element of drama: the two kicked off their diplomatic relationship with a very contentious phone call one year ago, when a newly-elected Trump scolded his Aussie counterpart about a refugee deal.

“I have had it,” Trump told Turnbull. “I have been making these calls all day and this is the most unpleasant call all day. Putin was a pleasant call. This is ridiculous.”

But a thawing in the personal relationship between Trump and Turnbull has been in the interest of both sides, with CNN pointing out that Australia is a “multi-billion dollar investor and one of America’s closet allies in a region they’re rapidly losing to an increasingly assertive China.”

The joint press conference kicks off at 2 p.m. EST. Watch above, via the White House.
