WATCH: Rittenhouse Trial Interrupted When Judge’s Lee Greenwood Ringtone Awkwardly Goes Off

The defense for 18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, on trial for murder, resumed on Wednesday following a lunch break.

As the defense was requesting the judge, Bruce Schroeder, declare a mistrial in the case due to the prosecution’s line of questioning toward Rittenhouse, the judge’s phone went off. The ringtone was Lee Greenwood’s “G-d Bless the U.S.A.”

Rittenhouse was 17 years old when he shot three victims, killing two, during riots in Kenosha, Wiscosin, last year. Rittenhouse faces several charges for shooting three men, wounding one and killing two.

The riots that occurred in the aftermath of a police officer shooting Jacob Blake, a Black man, in the back, leaving him paralyzed from the waste down. The officer who shot Blake, who is White, was not prosecuted in the shooting, as the Justice Department determined he acted in self defense, given Blake was charged at officers with a knife and resisted arrest.
