‘Narcissistic Sociopath’: Comedian Issues Brutal Takedown Of Rishi Sunak After Awkward BBC Interview

Comedian Ben Elton ripped Prime Minister Rishi Sunak as a “mendacious narcissistic sociopath” who believes his emergence as the country’s leader was “a miracle birth” after his “evasive” BBC interview.

Elton, part of a commentary panel on BBC’s Sunday show with host Laura Kuenssberg, was asked by the host how he felt about the Prime Minister’s interview.

“It’s not so much depressed as sad,” Elton said. “I mean, if anybody was still watching after that, extraordinary Orwellian and meaningless evasive word, salad… I mean. I sort of everybody else wanted to believe, and I sort of believe. Maybe he’s kind of a bit more decent, you know? And it turns out he’s as much of a mendacious, narcissistic sociopath as his previous boss.”

He continued: “He seemed to be making a principle of the fact that he resigned from a government that he’d served loyally and tried to keep propped up for numerous years. He’s trying to boast about having worried about inflation while he was Chancellor of the Exchequer under [former Prime Minister Boris Johnson]. He seems to act as if being born into Downing Street six months ago was a miracle birth. No, he was a part of a thirteen year cycle which has got us to this point.”

The comedian didn’t stop there, digging in on Johnson as “a man who made a mockery of a parliamentary democracy and clearly was venal motivated by self-interest” as the easy option for the party who then “dumped him instantly.”

“I mean,” he concluded, “he’s the Prime Minister, he owes us honesty and we got nothing but mendacity, evasion and vanity, just dripping with vanity.”

Sunak’s ranging interview with Kuenssberg, which aired just before, saw the Prime Minister grilled from all angles from crises in the National Health Service (NHS), the Covid-era PPE procurement scandal to leaked documents from 2022 which appear to undermine his stated commitment to his touted Rwanda policy.
