Lee Anderson Interviews Suella Braverman/GB News via Youtube

GB News host Lee Anderson boasted that he’s “as impartial as they come” after the media watchdog Ofcom announced Monday that his interview with Home Secretary Suella Braverman did not breach impartiality regulations.

Anderson, a sitting member of parliament and the deputy chairman of the Conservative Party, interviewed Braverman in September. The interview resulted in 1,600 formal complaints from the public due to the seeming inappropriateness of Conservative government’s Home Secretary being questioned by her party colleague.

Ofcom investigated but announced Monday that Anderson did not violate strict impartiality regulations because his show is classed as a “current affairs programme.”

Reacting to Ofcom’s decision, Anderson, the MP for Ashfield, took to X, previously known as Twitter, stating: “Who Knew? We all did. I am as impartial as they come when it comes to my @GBNEWS role.”

He continued: “In the Chamber though it’s a different matter.”

In a separate investigation, concluded Monday also, Ofcom found the channel was found guilty of breaching impartiality guidelines during a show hosted by ex-Brexit Party MEP Martin Daubney. Daubney when he interviewed Reform Party leader Richard Tice.

Ofcom currently has 12 investigations open on GB News.
