CNN Host Carol Costello: ‘Screw You, Jon Stewart’

CNN host Carol Costello really does not miss Jon Stewart‘s tenure at The Daily Show, saying on SiriusXM’s The Insight Hour Thursday that she thought he unfairly criticized her and her network.

“Everybody says ‘Oh, no publicity is bad publicity.’ But frankly, I’ll just be honest with you, it did bug me,” Costello told host and CNN opinion contributor Dean Obeidallah.

“You know why? Because he cherry-picks, right? It’s easy to cherry-pick and you slam somebody and it’s great,” she continued. “And sometimes we deserve it and sometimes we don’t. Sometimes I deserve it, but oftentimes I really don’t.” Costello couldn’t name a specific time that she was taken out of context, saying she tends to “erase it from my mind.”

“I will say this about Jon Stewart. He doesn’t go to congressional hearings and sit through them for five hours like our correspondents do. He doesn’t do that. He just takes our work and makes fun of it. So sometimes I find myself saying ‘Screw you, Jon Stewart,'” she said bluntly.
