Mueller’s Office Reportedly Investigating Meeting Between Manafort and the President of Ecuador in 2017

Paul Manafort is back in the spotlight over a stunning new report on alleged “secret talks” with Julian Assange. The Guardian broke news that, according to sources, Manafort met Assange multiple times in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, including in March 2016.
WikiLeaks has adamantly denied it.
Now CNN is reporting on a 2017 meeting between Manafort and Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno that is apparently being scrutinized by the special counsel’s office:
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team has been investigating a meeting between former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno in Quito in 2017 and has specifically asked if WikiLeaks or its founder, Julian Assange, were discussed in the meeting, a source with personal knowledge of the matter tells CNN.
Moreno had publicly acknowledged meeting with Manafort “with a group of Chinese businessmen interested in acquiring a stake in the nation’s power company.”
This morning President Donald Trump blasted the Mueller investigation once again as a “phony witch hunt.”
