A Dem You’ve Probably Never Heard of Is Considering a 2016 Run

A Republican-turned-independent-turned-Democrat who you may not have heard of is considering a run for president on the Democratic side in 2016. Lincoln Chafee, the former Governor of Rhode Island, announced today he’s forming a presidential exploratory committee.

Chafee already has a Chafee 2016 website up encouraging people to donate to show their support for a Chaffee candidacy.

Now, some of you might find Chafee’s name a little familiar. Well, either you’re the kind of person who just knows about every politician who has ever lived or you’re a Fox News viewer. While Chafee was still governor, Bill O’Reilly went after him a lot for calling the state Christmas tree a “holiday tree.”

Chafee’s already gone on the attack against Hillary Clinton, telling Politico, “I would argue that anybody who voted for the Iraq War should not be president, and certainly anybody who voted for the Iraq War should not lead the Democratic Party into an election.”
