#BasementDwellers Blows Up on Twitter After Clinton Comments About Sanders Supporters
Even though recently leaked audio from Hillary Clinton talking about Bernie Sanders supporters is more sympathetic than you might assume, the fact that she said a lot of them are living in their parents’ basements got a lot of people pissed off.
The audio got a lot of attention last night for how Sanders’ young supporters feel disenfranchised and she understands their concerns.
Clinton said, “We should all be really understanding of that and should try to do the best we can not to be, you know, a wet blanket on idealism. We want people to be idealistic.”
But because of that one basement line, a fury exploded online and #BasementDwellers became a major trend:
