Ben Carson Pens Op-Ed Calling for an End to Selfies
After watching President Barack Obama get himself in trouble on multiple occasions for taking selfies, Dr. Ben Carson has decided he’s done with them.
In an op-ed for the Washington Post’s seventh annual “Spring Cleaning” series, the potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate has nominated selfies as something “we’re better off without.” Carson offers up a brief history of the selfie before arriving at the invention of the selfie stick.
“The selfie stick ushers in a new, even worse and more dangerous era for the form. The stick doesn’t just validate selfies by building a cottage industry around them. It also says, ‘Snap them everywhere!'” he writes. “Please stop.”
