‘Can’t Have a Circus Without a Ringleader’: Reactions to CPAC’s Trump Announcement Pour in
This morning, the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) made a historic announcement: sitting President Donald Trump will speak at their event, hot off his recent engagement speaking to a Floridian rally crowd.
We are honored that @POTUS will return to #CPAC2017 on Friday, Feb 24th at 10:00am(ET). Join us for this history-making moment @CPAC. pic.twitter.com/stzu07smV3

Is @realDonaldTrump going to be introducing the immigrant who’s in favor of pedophilia? Or following him? https://t.co/Xzml27XOGy

Much of the criticism of the announcement has to do with the other big-name speaker who’s been dominating the headlines, Milo Yiannopoulos. Just last night, recordings of him seemingly defending pedophilia as “coming-of-age” relationships in “the homosexual world” spread like wildfire. Coupled with Trump’s own scandalous recordings on the subject of sexual assault, the video has some thinking that conservatism has taken an irreversible turn for the worst.
