Corey Lewandowski Joining VP Mike Pence’s Team

Corey Lewandowski‘s BACK.

President Donald Trump‘s first campaign manager has spent months in exile, since he was dumped in the summer of 2016 after he manhandled a Breitbart reporter, but according to Fox News he’s joining Vice President Mike Pence‘s political action committee.

Lewandowski, according to Howard Kurtz‘s reporting, will join The Great America Committee, a group deeply involved in the upcoming 2018 midterm elections. “The Pence committee donated more than $150,000 to Republican congressional candidates in February,” Kurtz reported.

The report was confirmed by NBC News.

Kurtz also notes that Lewandowski’s new position likely removes him from contention to replace John Kelly as Trump’s White House chief of staff, a switch the president has reportedly been mulling.

Lewandowski will also leave America First Policies, a pro-Trump group that has been mired by controversy as of late. The dark money group hired Carl Higbie after he was fired from the Trump administration for racist social media posts, and Mediaite recently reported that an adviser for the group praised Nazis.

Despite his unceremonious ouster from Trump-world, Lewandowski was never far away from the president, his longtime sticky valentine. His first big job in Washington D.C. was at his own lobbying shop with sweeping views of the White House.

That venture soon went down in flames, when Lewandowski quit after it became obvious he was less “draining the swamp,” more “profiting off of his proximity to the president.”

All the while, he kept the president’s ear, fawning over him on cable news and speaking to him frequently by phone. Trump, is has been reported, has long yearned to have the pit-bullish New Hampshire operative back on his team.
