Does Charlie Rangel Still Hold Gavel? Twitterers Contradict

What is going on over at the House tonight? We’re getting conflicting reports about Rep. Charlie Rangel, chairman (or possibly now ex-chairman) of the House Ways and Means Committee. While the question of whether or not Rangel did violate ethical boundaries is no longer up for debate, but whether or not he’ll have to give up his chairmanship is.
NBC reported half an hour ago that Rangel will temporarily give up Chairmanship, and Michigan Dem Rep. Sander Levin will temporarily take over. Now Chuck Todd is saying on his Twitter that this may not necessarily be the case, and Peter Stark might get the gavel.
Meanwhile, Mike Madden of Salon.com Tweeted that Rangel left his meeting with Nancy Pelosi with gavel still in hand. So which is it?
