Glenn Beck And Van Jones, The Bromance Continues

your moment of glenn

Van Jones is really just the gift that keeps on giving. For Glenn Beck, anyway. In his NAACP image award acceptance speech over the weekend Jones jokingly announced that he loves Glenn Beck! “To my fellow countryman, Mr. Glenn Beck, I see you and I love you, and you cannot do anything about it.”

To which Glenn Beck said: “I’m so excited somebody likes me! They really, really like me.” Before pointing out that he’d never had anything personal (nothing but love, in fact) against Jones in the first place (and it’s true that he didn’t gloat over Jones’ resignation in September). After which he launched into a familiar (for regular viewers anyway) explanation/tirade of why Jones is proof that the Obama administration is rife with secret Maoist radicals, etc. Video below.

Did you ask Dan why MSNBC won’t release the video of Van Jones praising the Americans who went over to Iraq to act as human shields??

Van Jones is one pathetic excuse for a human being!

He said just that on MSNBC’s “The Abrams Report” in 2003, according to a transcript of the show (relevant portion below the fold). I would post video here, but MSNBC refuses to release it:
    Story Continues Below Ad ↓

DAN ABRAMS: If Saddam Hussein uses human shields and he’s captured alive, he’s going to be tried as a war criminal, as will anyone who works with him in that effort. The question we’re asking here is, what about these Americans, these Europeans who are sending over these American and European human shields?

    VAN JONES: They’re heroes.

DAN ABRAMS: Could that — well, all right.

VAN JONES: They’re not criminals, they’re heroes.

DAN ABRAMS: All right, Van, before I even get to the intro, Van Jones is jumping in, describing them as heroes. But Ruth Wedgewood, look, apart from the fact that almost everyone doesn’t view them as heroes at all, and everyone in this country particular views the idea of them getting into soldiers’ ways — soldiers’ way in Iraq is extremely disturbing to say the least.

Preach on, fellow Patriot!!1 Only through our brave BLOG COMMENTS can we stop this evil Communist from his INSIDIOUS infiltration of the American government!!1

The cult of personality that is Glenn Beck is far more dangerous to America than the dufus erstwhile-socialist Van Jones. Kudos to Jones for really getting under Becks skin by saying he loves him.

Hmmm… did Beck look irked? Didn’t look displeased to me. The guy managed to do enough reporting, to get the guy kicked out of the White House. He actually made the Federal government change, and all he had to do was talk in front of a camera.

And Jones go under HIS skin? Yeah… methinks not.

Trickletown, you often get to the heart of a matter very effectively. You have done so again.

  • MichelleF

    Trickletown,
As always is the case with Libs, accusation with nothing to back them up. How about stating WHY you feel that way, or should we just take your word for it?

  • The Real Royal King

I don’t know, Michelle F. I think the well-crafted “dufus erstwhile-socialist” phrase may rather negate the fact that Trickletown is a true believer among liberals, and it may also establish that he sees the subject of this story being two dufi.

Not to speak for her, but I think Michelle meant to explain why Beck is so “dangerous”. More dangerous than having a communist near the president, for example?

  • pyrope

Glenn Beck is THE modern day Paul Revere. You’d be wise to listen to him.
