GOP Rep. Proposes More Sanctions on North Korea in Response to Sony Hack
Congressman Ed Royce, the Republican chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, proposed more sanctions on North Korea in response to the cyberattack on Sony. The U.S. government currently believes the hacking originated from North Korea.
Royce told Hugh Hewitt on his radio show that such a brazen attack merits a response, and placing sanctions again on North Korea to keep “any financial institution that did business with the regime” like in previous attempts.
“When you freeze the accounts at the banks,” Royce explained, “and you tell the institutions you’re either going to do business with the United States or you’re going to do business with North Korea, they all make the decision, okay, we’ll freeze the account.”
I feel the need to bring up again that this is all in reaction to a movie starring Seth Rogen and James Franco.
