Gretchen Carlson: ‘Disappointing’ Fox News Let O’Reilly Return After Ousting Him for Sexual Harassment

Former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson is not impressed with her old network for allowing Bill O’Reilly to return to their airspace after the circumstances of his ouster.

Carlson gave an interview to Vanity Fair this week in order to promote her upcoming book: Be Fierce: Stop Harassment and Take Your Power Back. The book is focused on women’s empowerment, and it is likely to touch on Carlson’s sexual harassment allegations which sparked the chain of events that shook up Fox and led to some of their most significant figures being forced out.

Multiple Fox News employees accused O’Reilly of sexual harassment earlier this year, and Fox News Channel severed ties with him after it was revealed he and the network paid out $13 million to settle the lawsuits against him. O’Reilly reappeared on Fox to speak with Sean Hannity earlier this week, and Carlson was asked for her thoughts about this.

“It’s disappointing that somebody who was fired from Fox would be given a venue to come back on as a guest,” said Carlson. “Especially based on the reasons that surrounded it.”

O’Reilly used his TV appearance to promote his new book Killing England, though Carlson says she has no plans to go back on Fox and do the same with her work. Carlson also noted how O’Reilly’s reappearance holds connotations for the way in which culture deals with sexual harassment.

On a semi-related note, Carlson’s former colleague Greta Van Susteren is also curious about whether the network would invite her back once her own book comes out:
