Hillary, Sanders Start Up a Big ‘I’m More Progressive Than You’ Fight
Bernie Sanders ignited a huge feud today between his campaign and Hillary Clinton‘s over to the tune of “I’m more progressive than you.”
During her Iowa caucus sort-of-victory speech, Clinton proudly talked up her progressive record. When Sanders was asked about whether Clinton is a progressive, he said, “Some days.”
Q. Do you think @HillaryClinton is a progressive?
A. Some days, yes. Other days she announces she is a moderate.https://t.co/kIdhjzXZDs— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) February 3, 2016
Team Clinton went DEFCON 1:
A 40-year record of progressive results—boiled down to "some days." https://t.co/ljJvAp6vFT

She even called it a “low blow” at a campaign event earlier today:
.@BernieSanders says Hillary’s been a progressive “some days.” Hillary responds:https://t.co/RCWx5w8oYU

And that’s when it became Team Sanders’ turn to go on the offensive:
You can be a moderate. You can be a progressive. But you cannot be a moderate and a progressive.

Most progressives I know are firm from day 1 in opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership. They didn't have to think about it a whole lot.

Most progressives that I know were opposed to the Keystone pipeline from day one. Honestly, it wasn’t that complicated.

Most progressives I know were against the war in Iraq. One of the worst foreign policy blunders in the history of the United States.

Gee, I wonder what they’re gonna argue about at their town hall tonight and debate tomorrow…
