CNN Report: Is BP Hiding Dead Wildlife From Media Coverage?

video

Volunteers and environmental experts are working tirelessly in the Gulf Coast to clean up the effects of the BP oil spill, including saving wildlife covered by the leaked crude oil. But how many animals thus far have died due to the environmental disaster? No one currently knows, and CNN Rob Marciano filed the following report, pegged to a bird rescue center hired by BP who was asked to remove a list of bird casualties from their website.

I would say that if you have a screenshot of CNN asking the question “Is BP Hiding Dead Wildlife From Media Coverage” and that depiction is SHOWING DEAD WILDLIFE, then the answer is: whether they are or not, it clearly isn’t going to work in their favor.

We already know this spill is bigger than the Valdez…can’t we make the not-very-difficult logical leap that this spill is having a tremendously tragic effect on wildlife in the gulf?

The hammer is going to come down on BP whether or not they’re “hiding” dead animals. Are we all really so stupid that we need to SEE or have “a list” of all the dead animals to know that BP has a massive, massive restitution to pay and that the poisoned waters of the gulf won’t be same for many generations?

    Maybe I’m missing the point…?

That isn’t dead wild life in the screenshot – that image is a bird getting cleaned by a volunteer.

Alrighty, but the point was this: whether or not BP is trying to hide dead animals, the American public isn’t really stupid enough to believe that everything is hunky-dory in the gulf, are they?

@JoeCallan, Does anyone believe anything BP says anymore? According to the Audubon Society and other experts many of the animals that are cleaned die from complications later on.

I wish CNN would bring on a real wildlife expert and not rely on Jack Hanna’s incompetent SeaWorld kissing ass.

BP trying to sweep their mess under the rug — and they don’t have a big enough rug to hide it. BP should pay for every bit of the damage they’ve caused, but the Republicans will try to protect them.

A few friends in Houma, Louisiana have told me some really disturbing tales of BP’s workers coming in the middle of the night to dispose of the dead carcasses on their beaches, and dumping new beach sand overtop the polluted sand to cover it up, rather than scraping it up to clean it, to reduce the visible impact. These people are evil!
