Kimberly Munley, The Woman Who Ended The Fort Hood Rampage

updated

alg_kimberly_munleyYou can expect a lot of the media focus on the Fort Hood shooting rampage to shift to this woman in the next few days. Sgt. Kimberly Munley is the civilian police officer who arrived on the scene yesterday — she had apparently been outside directing traffic — and shot alleged shooter Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan four times. Munley, herself was wounded in the exchange, but is reportedly in stable condition. This from the New York Daily News:

Civilian police Sgt. Kimberly Munley and her partner responded within three minutes of reported gunfire Thursday afternoon, Lt. Gen. Bob Cone said Friday. Munley, who had been trained in active-response tactics, rushed into the building and confronted the shooter as he was turning a corner, Cone said. “It was an amazing and an aggressive performance by this police officer,” Cone said. Munley was only a few feet from crazed Army psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan when she opened fire.

And this is a screengrab Munley’s Twitter account, though she doesn’t appear to use it with great frequency. Her Twitter bio reads:

I live a good life….a hard one, but I go to sleep peacefully @ night knowing that I may have made a difference in someone’s life.

The media makes me sick, because they are intentionally leaving out the other officer who shot this suspect. I want to see the other cop’s picture, for some reason, I doubt he fits their image of a American Hero. The fact they are ignoring him leads me to believe he must be a member of a minority group.

Franciszek- the reason Sgt. Munley’s picture is all over the place is because it is the photo she uses on Twitter, and news outlets apparently found it and copied it. I will be bet that if Senior Sgt. Mark Todd’s photo was available on Twitter, his pic would also be everywhere.
There were no photos that I have seen taken on the day of the terror attack by Hassan on his fellow soldiers of either officer.

I really think some people jump to conclusions, and you are just one of them.

The Seven Best (Or, Somewhat Memorable) Moments Of The Jay Leno Show

    video

After 95 episodes, the epic failure known as The Jay Leno Show airs its final episode tonight. Of course, Leno himself will be back after the Olympics, comfortably at 11:35pm all over again. Which was pretty much the problem to begin with - the 10pm offering started as a similar product to the Tonight Show, and only became more like the old format as time went on.
