Meghan McCain’s ‘Chesty’ Twitpic Makes HuffPo Celebrity Scandals List

The death of Michael Jackson; Mackenzie Phillips‘ incest accusation; Kanye West‘s uber-interruption; Meghan McCain‘s PG-rated (at best) Twitpic: One of these things is not like the others, one of these things does not belong.

On The Huffington Post’s list of Shocking 2009 Celebrity Scandals, the story of Meghan McCain’s Twitpic-inspired firestorm seems to stick out like a…sore thumb. What’s the real scandal here?

HuffPo describes it like this:

Meghan McCain tweeted this chesty photo illustrating her idea of a progressive night in. Controversy ensued and she made an empty threat to quit Twitter but instead tweeted a half-hearted apology for any offense her boobs may have caused.

“Chesty?” Is Bob Eubanks writing for HuffPo now? Are they afraid this picture would give people the urge to “make whoopee?”

The only scandal here is that anyone would object to this, and that it resulted in Meg promising no more Twitpics. It makes me seriously wonder what’s wrong with this country. It’s a really good picture, with the added artsy touch of black-and-white photography.

On the other hand, who could blame HuffPo for finding an excuse to publish the sexy, gritty image one

more time? One of the great attractions of Meg’s Twitter feed is that late-night, unfiltered, intimate quality she achieves, and this photo epitomizes that.

Still, this isn’t even my favorite Meghan McCain Twitpic this year. For my money, that honor goes to this shot of a reporter apparently interviewing Meg’s boobs. This one’s also not scandalous, but another example of Meg’s sense of humor about her pride and joy.

Count me in on those who think this is a non-scandal. McCain took the photo herself, and she can post whatever she wants to. If people don’t like it, they can unsubscribe from her twitter feed. The ohmygodzshehasBOOBIES is ridiculous. (Not that it’s any consolation to McCain, but a liberal blogger, Jessica Valenti, also got caught in the BOOBIEZ storm a couple of years ago, when conservative Ann Althouse made the bizarre false accusation that Valenti was jutting out her breasts in a photo of several bloggers with the former President.)

Everybody comments about boobies….. has anybody made a comment about the beautiful eyes and smile, and that natural hair-do that she has? I think that men has too much fixation with boobies, as if their own mother didn’t breast-feed them enough.

I think the real story is that it was Huff-Po which found this to be scandalous. You might expect the FOX morning crew to get in a dander about this.

HuffPo limits it’s scandals by political persuasion mixed with a dose of plain ole stupidity.

Just another web site to pay no attention to,because it exists to draw attention any way it can get it.

I’ve seen several articles on HuffPo’s string of sexually based posts.YAWN!

Another stupid non-story elevated to new heights by one side or the other to make it easier to ignore their own irrelevance. Anyone in the media today griping about cleavage and boobs is a massive hypocrite. Spend an hour flipping through the news channels. It is a tour of teleprompter reading cleavages.
