Office of Government Ethics Recommends Conway Face Disciplinary Action for Ivanka Trump Plug

Last week, the Office of Government Ethics received an avalanche of messages in regards to Kellyanne Conway and her advertising-like comments in regards Ivanka Trump‘s clothing line during an interview. As it turns out, the Office agrees with those who suggest that President Trump‘s special adviser should be investigated over her actions.
Conway’s remarks came at the beginning of Trump’s feud with Nordstroms over their decision to pull his daughter’s merchandise due to poor sales. Conway’s impromptu advertisement on Fox became a the focus of media scrutiny due to implications of ethical violations.
On Tuesday, the House Oversight Committee released a letter, stating that Conway’s comments were a “clear violation” of ethics rules, and the White House should investigate and “consider taking disciplinary action against her.”

Press Secretary Sean Spicer previously said that Conway was “counseled” over the incident, and Trump’s daughter reportedly scolded Conway for her actions. Conway has insisted that the president still stands with her in spite of the incident.
