PLOT TWIST: Russian Journo ‘Murdered’ By Kremlin Agents…Is Alive
Kremlin critic Arkady Babchenko, who had reportedly been shot dead, has just been seen alive at a news conference – previous reports said he’d been shot on his doorstep, found by his wife, and that his heart stopped in an ambulance on the way to hospital https://t.co/ibXqXcgcok pic.twitter.com/3SlX6DRrhP

Contrary to previous reports from multiple international news sources, it seems that Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko is actually still alive.
The reports of Babchenko’s assassination took off yesterday when his wife Olechka called the hospital after finding his bullet-ridden body in their Kiev apartment. However, BBC reports that Babchenko just appeared on a televised Ukranian news conference, and it appears he was part of a sting operation to expose agents who really were trying to kill him.
Multiple Ukrainian officials originally blamed Babchenko’s death on Vladimir Putin because he has been criticizing the Kremlin’s policies for years. Today, Vasyl Hrytsak, head of Ukraine’s security services, explained the details of how he and Babchenko helped reveal the movements of Russian security services.
Babchenko also spoke at the conference, offering “special apologies” to his wife who was apparently not in on the act.
“I am sorry, but there were no options here,” Babchenko said. “The operation took two months to prepare. I was told a month ago. As a result of the operation, one person has been captured, he is being held.”
