Roseanne Barr Threatens To Leave Twitter Over A ‘Parody Account’
Poor Roseanne Barr. The comedienne / nut farmer thought naming her Twitter account “TheRealRoseanne” would differentiate her from the haters and fakers. And yet here comes another account — also ostensibly “TheRealRoseanne” — dedicating solely to making fun of the politically active actress. TheFakeRealRoseanne was able to accomplish this using a sly trick once reserved solely for certain teen girls making fake AOL screen names to mimic their friends online: Simply swap a lower case “L” with an uppercase “I,” then sit back and allow the hijinx to ensue.
Friday evening, Barr announced that she was “#overtwitter” and would be leaving the social networking site because “they are allowing a parody account to make fun/counter all the idea i have.”
She also had some choice words reserved for the self-described parody account after it cracked a fat joke:
It would appear, though, that whoever runs the parody account isn’t terribly worried about any impending war and/or chance that Barr might leave Twitter. To wit:
