Sarah Palin On Twitter Hints At Support Of DADT Repeal, Gay Rights

Conservative radio host and proud lesbian Tammy Bruce joined the discussion about Navy Capt. Owen Honors and his controversially homophobic videos shown to his Navy crew, by tweeting, “But this hypocrisy is just truly too much. Enuf already–the more someone complains about the homos the more we should look under their bed.” Sarah Palin, who has not spoken out on the issue of “don’t ask don’t tell” or any gay issue really, re-tweeted Bruce’s message, thus leaving us to speculate about the meaning of this retweet heard ’round the world.

Bruce summarized the retweet accordingly, “I think [Palin's retweet of] my tweet is her first comment on DADT, treatment of gays & attempts to marginalize us–thank you Governor.” Some might be eager to criticize both Bruce’s use and Palin’s affirmation of the term “homo.” However, this looks like the surest sign yet that Palin is attempting to surprise people and to reach out for support amongst groups who have not been particularly fond of her in the past. Let’s see if Palin clears up her position in the coming days or if she’ll be too busy helping Bruce look under people’s beds.

Check out the mysterious retweet below:

Kathy Griffin was finally able to influence Palin.

WTG Kathy. Seems her hard work paid off.

Can we assume this is a calculated political move rather than expression of personal opinion?

Those people, who are undoubtedly bleating “Homophobe!” out of the other side of their mouths, are morons.

  • TangledThorns

This is a non-story really. Very very slow news cycle till next week I supposed.

Yes, that retweet was definitely focused grouped around the country and designed to strike a perfect gay/homophobe balance. I hear Frank Luntz had that contract.

Does being utterly ridiculous ever get tiring, Foxy?

I’m not sure if she knows what DADT is. So might want to check back on that later.

It just shows how brain dead the liberals are… Sarah Palin has been very open about her attitude towards gays/lesbians. If, and this is a big if, any of the liberals had read her first book, Going Rogue, they would know that her room mate in college was a lesbian and they are still very close friends all these years later. Tammy Bruce and for that matter, the Hillbuzz Boys, have been strong Sarah Palin supporters ever since she arrived on the scene over two years ago. So, all this revelation about the tweet appears to be just another example of how idiotic the left’s view of Sarah Palin is. They have no clue, never will understand her and thankfully, will remain almost totally brain dead as she continues her journey to the White House.

What a good christian woman bleeting her ignorance for all to hear. Follow blindly with her on her journey to laugh land.

    Oh my….

This will be entertaining. Watch how the far left sputters and hisses when they see that Palin doesn’t hate gays abd, in fact supports the extiction of DADT.

Tune in next time, boys and girls. How will the left dance around this? How will they manage to say that Palin still hates gays? And what will Kathy Griffith say?

    Heh.

I can’t wait for this one.

  • Harry Flashman

    Hey, Rocksteady….

What ignnorance is she “bleeting”? (that’s “bleating, by the way) That she supports gays in the military? How is that ignorant, especially from the left’s point of view.

Or…is this just more blind, mindless Palin hatred?

    I choose “B”.

Bleeting – A hybrid of blogging and tweeting, as in posting to a blog with a maximum of 140 characters. A form of journalism as haiku.
You can look up blind follower on your own.

HA, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!!!!!!!!!!! Desperate Palin has to try something new, as she sees her poll #s crash and burn! It’s funny she has to try a strategy Meghan McCain has been shouting from the roof top! Kudos, it’s the right move for once.

  • Liberty Back For More

I’d like to see more of this libertarian side of her come out. Explaining that government sponsored discrimination in the form of DADT, Affirmative Action and racial profiling are wrong for the simple fact that it violates an individuals liberty.

  • esd2000

Sarah Palin is doing what she usually does. Waiting to see which way the wind is blowing. And to think some people actually think she would make a good leader.

Still love Sarah though. What an amazing woman, she is always thinking and evolving. Can’t wait to vote for her to be my next President and she is sexy.

If she’s “evolving” will she ever evolve into something more than a walking, talking, collection of “bumper sticker-like sayings?” And will she “evolve” by 2012?

Once more for the peanut gallery–Sarah is a member of the Tea Party not the Religious Right. As such she hides behind a Constitution she’s never read to disguise her irrational fear and willful ignorance not a Bible she’s never read. And instead of spending all her time hating women and gays, like the Religious Right did, her favorite scapegoats are Muslims and Mexicans. It turns out all the dual male incomes of the gay community (and all the economic and political clout that buys) is just too much for the modern GOP to ignore.

This is nothing new, the GOP corporatists spent DECADES pissing on working and middle class white Americans with anti-union policies but when the GOP couldn’t get arrested let alone elected in Washington for nearly 40 years, they quickly turned to sucking up to those whites for votes thanks to the divide and conquer guidance of the neo-cons.

That’s how the GOP rolls, demoralize a group with discriminatory policies that then cause said group to organize politically and gain political and social acceptance that then leads to economic power. The GOP always looking for a buck, ALL OF THE SUDDEN, recognize the validity of said group and, particularly, their new found wealth and political influence.

Well the only thing I can say to Sarah about looking under beds is perhaps we shiuld look under her’s and Bristols beds concerning abstinance. I totally agree with her about excess and homophobes so I guess the same should apply about excess and abstinance.

As an ex-sailor I feel the Captain should recieve the same treatment an enlisted man would get. But I know that won’t happen. He will probably be asked to retire with ten to twenty fhousand dollar a month retirement check and all benefits.

An enlisted man would be in the brig awaiting court martial and a dishonorable discharge. But we the tax payers can afford to pay this man handsomely for misconduct, which is unbecoming an officer and a gentleman. What a joke. Mccain the self proclaomed hero will probably stand by the Captain. I hope someone asks McCain,

So she knows and likes a couple of gays. So what? What are her actual positions on DADT and gay marriage? I don’t recall her coming out (sorry, that wasn’t intended) and explicitly stating her position on those issues. Did she? (genuine question. I don’t know)

Sure she re-tweeted, but was that a “statement” of her actual views, or just support for a friend?
