Scarborough: Sean Hannity’s Coverage of Seth Rich Conspiracy is ‘Gross and Repulsive’

In the second hour of Morning Joe Friday, host Joe Scarborough took a moment to do something he said he rarely did and didn’t like doing: attack a rival network anchor.

“We don’t talk about our competitors because, you know, it’s just kind of gross. And we’re supposed to be talking about things that are bigger than that” said Scarborough.

Quite a tee up.

Scarborough soon revealed that the person in his crosshairs was none other than Fox News’ Sean Hannity. The issue was — you guessed it — Seth Rich. The MSNBC host said he was disgusted with how Hannity had pursued the story long after it was debunked and despite the express wishes of the Rich family.

“Now we are reduced to fake news and Sean Hannity ripping the hearts out of parents for their son, their young, gifted son who was shot in the back and trying to twist that into something that somehow helps Donald Trump. It’s gross and it’s repulsive.”

Scarborough said the entire affair reminded him of how some of his critics had targeted him, alluding to a 2001 incident during his time in Congress, when a 28-year-old intern Lori Klausutis was found dead in his district office

“It’s also something that I know about personally a good deal because I’ve had liberals on the far left, extremists doing this to me for 20 years on a story that brought immeasurable pain to another family,” he said.

Show mainstay, Donny Deutch, was on hand for the layup.

“I could speak a little freer because I don’t have a show on the network,” he said. “It was despicable what he did. It mirrors another time where there was a person who had zero empathy to another family who lost a child. We all know what happened with President Trump and the gold star family. It’s the same thing with Hannity and Trump.”

“What type of person does that?” Scarborough asked.  “I’ll tell you what. A person that has no shame.”

Ouch!
