Sen. Vitter: Rachel Maddow Looked Like A Woman ‘A Long Time Ago’

audio

I guess just add this to ever-growing list of repellent things Sen. David Vitter has done while in elected office. While appearing on a conservative radio show out of New Orleans yesterday, Vitter had a good laugh with the hosts over an old picture of Rachel Maddow “looking like a woman.”

“Must have been a long time ago,” cracked Vitter. Cue uproarious laughter. Funny stuff, though perhaps not all that surprising considering Vitter’s history with “women’s issues.” Vitter, meanwhile, later issued a (very short) apology to Maddow.

Dear Rachel,

Regarding my remark during a radio conversation today, I apologize.

The hosts made their comment and I obviously chimed in. While we do not usually agree on the issues, I do not think you deserved that comment.

Sincerely,

David

He’s right. In that pic she looks like a woman. Now? Not so much. She looks like a young Shelley Berman. Merely an observation.

Maybe David Vitter and Kathy Griffin should go out on a date. I’d love to see if Griffin (another one of those ‘used-to-look-like-a-woman’) would get ‘offended’ by what Vitter said.

Glynnis, you are only contributing to Maddow’s embarrassment by posting that picture here. Was that really necessary? I would assume she is a regular reader of your posts.

Vitter had a problem with his own wife probably, thinking she did not look like a woman and had to go to a prostitute for sex. He should shut up about who looks like what. He looks like a jerk, acts like a moron, and probably can’t get it up with women.

Glyniss, Glyniss, Glyniss….you are on an anti-conservative roll today. HA

Why not go after Olbermann for all the despicable things he has had to say, or Matthews, or Franks, or Dodd, or any other democrat? Why is it just Vitter being despicable.

At least he issued an apology — a far cry better than the news media person Dana Bash who laughed at Kathy Griffin calling Scott Brown’s daughters prostitutes. Dana hasn’t bothered to issue an apology, and yet you haven’t gone on a rant about that? Why not?

Just look at what the left has been saying about Cheney since his heart surgery?

Come on Glynnis….be fair here for a change.

For some reason, the song, “Dude looks like a lady”, is in my head now.

Anyway, I digress. This coincides nicely with something I was already thinking about. I love HGTV, and was watching a show that has an obviously gay host, which I adore. He was doing a room for a nice gentlemanly couple in Miami and asked them to choose between two pillow patterns and one said, “this one because it’s more masculine”, and the David (the host), lauged out loud and said, “are you really masculine?”. I thought to myself that if a straight person had said that, they would be branded as a gay-basher. This is the same thing. It’s a double-standard and nothing else.

Joking about stuff is a whole lot better than not. At my work, there’s this gay guy. No one really gives a shit that he’s gay, he’s not flamboyant, but he’s not exactly in the closet, either. Sometimes we make gay jokes, and he’s pretty quick about turning the wit around. It doesn’t matter. We have a guy who’s father was black, and who’s mother is Korean, and he told us once that he can steal a car in thirty seconds, but he can’t drive it for shit. Stuff like that brings people together to laugh, not apart.

I left the service while in Jacksonville, and me and a black guy from Georgia were checking out of the service at the same time. You have to go to a bunch of different departments, and it takes a while. I didn’t know this black guy that well, even though we’d been in the same division, but we decided to get some beer and go down to the beach behind the package store during lunch, where we talked for a little bit. He told me that even though I was a northern white guy, I was okay. When I asked him wtf, he said that, as a general rule, he liked southern white guys better, because they don’t “pretend” to like blacks. He told me that when a southern white guy doesn’t like blacks, he’ll just call him a nigger, while northern white guys will smile and be nice, but they’re probably thinking “nigger”.

I posted this on another site but, I’ll ask it again. Does Vitter know what a Lipstick Lesbian is? Think, Portia DeRossi, Ellen Degeneres’ wife. I suppose she is what he considers the model for what a woman should look like. This purveyor of prostitutes and noted diaper wearer is a disgrace. He has the nerve to talk about what a woman should look like? One thing is clear look at Vitter with his jowley, doughy face. We at least know why he sought out hookers. I wonder if Pay Go was his idea?

I saw his press conference with his wife and remember that terrible leopard dress she wore. I could not help thinking to myself that she was rather strange. I am always amazed that these women stand up for their man like this. However, that was before I read about his fetish desires I really could not imagine her being there.

Not sure why liberals feel the need to attack the women at Fox News because of their looks. Sarah Palin gets the same treatment. It’s as though it’s taboo for libs to point out someone’s ugliness, but if they’re nice looking, all bets are off.

Anyway, Fox News found a winning recipe, the women are for the most part pretty, and they’re very smart. One of them, Megyn Kelly, most would agree is going to be a news star quickly. Her background as a lawyer is really obvious when she lets her interviewees paint themselves into a corner before pouncing.

Allure Magazine degrades women of Fox News Channel

The July 2010 issue of Allure Magazine features an article titled, “Beauty and The Beat” which degrades female news personalities featured on the Fox News Channel. The one-page piece is written in the form of a sarcastic poem inferring that Fox News hires beautiful women with no brains to hike its ratings. Left wing writer David DeNicolo, who also writes for The New York Times (what a shocker), starts his piece “Roger Ailes is such as whiz at the infotainment biz”. Ailes is President of Fox News.

Connecticut resident and conservative blogger of http://www.DifferentWorld.us tells us, “While DeNicolo certainly isn’t Shakespeare, the danger of articles like this is that they attempt to use humor to degrade these women, simply because they are on Fox. Even people who are not conservatives should take offense at this article. Saul Alinsky wrote in Rules for Radicals, ‘Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.’ Alinsky wrote this book to provide people who want to destroy the American way of life a system to do so.”

DeNicolo isn’t the first left-winger to attack Fox’s credibility. Perhaps he’s simply following the lead of his idols in Washington. In October of 2009, White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod told George Stephanopoulos during an interview that Fox is, “not really a news station”. Rahm Emanuel, White House Chief of Staff, said during an interview on CNN that Fox “is not a news organization so much as it has a perspective.”

The Allure piece features photographs of seven female journalists on Fox, each with a caption referencing a physical attribute. For instance, the caption beneath a photograph of “Fox and Friends” anchor Gretchen Carlson reads, “Nothing makes the TV screen buzz, like a former pageant queen does.” It’s interesting, but I don’t remember anyone claiming that Carlson was hired for her looks when she worked for CBS News, where she co-anchored the “CBS Saturday Early Show.” They didn’t claim she won her two National Emmy awards while at CBS because she has great legs. DeNicolo also doesn’t mention the fact that Carlson graduated from Stanford University with honors. I’m pretty sure they don’t give those degrees out for having blond hair.

DeNicolo writes of Fox’s “America Live” host Megyn Kelly, “Her star to Fox News is tethered, and her hair is finely feathered”. As with all of the other women in this article who are depicted as airheads willing to be exploited by Fox News, DenIcolo chooses to ignore the facts to make his erroneous point. Kelly is an attorney with a degree from Albany Law School, where she was also the editor of the Albany Law Review. What a dumb blonde!

Connecticut resident Kimberly Smith Ryan commented, “How ironic that Allure would typecast women that way.” It is interesting that a magazine designed to uplift women would allow a particular group of women to be publicly degraded in their pages.

Has anyone ever heard the great Rachel Maddow appologize to ANYONE? Her entire program is to put down people so if she couldn’t make up a lot of her stories, she wouldn’t have a show at all. She and Olbermann are just alike. Without their made up jokes, what they call stories, they would not have ANY time on TV. Of course, neither have any time on my TV, since I ONCE listened to them. All parties envolved in ANY election should have both sides of their stories told to the public. You can decide which are true and lies. IMO mostly on all the high and mighty Media have more false stories or tell a story and never give the other side of it. THAT is why we never got the TRUTH on the president. Unless you dug yourself into his past, you knew nothing about him, and you still don’t, but it is because you don’t want to, you LOVE to believe his lies!

On the other hand, jokes about Ann Coulter’s alleged androgyny is a-ok. Just ask Olbermann. It’s hardly surprising he’d be a little perturbed.

“For some reason, the song, “Dude looks like a lady”, is in my head now.”

There’s plenty of room for it.

notsoslick: “She head is as empty as a tire.”

Yet another “pearl of wisdumb” from His Sphincterness. Do George Bush writes for you?

“I would not have screwed her with Rosie’s dick.”

You don’t HAVE one, oh classless and penisless Sphincterness?

“the msm leans to the left, everyone agrees”

I don’t. Why does EVERYONE make blanket statements?

    “mainstream America is center-right.”

Would that be the “center-right” nation that wants the public option, social security, Medicare, unemployment insurance, free public schools, police and fire protection, free roads – THAT “center-right” nation?

“So why do Leftists whine, bleat, and wet their panties over Fox?”

Because they LIE – provably, repeatedly and relentlessly. Don’t you CARE about being lied to – or is it okay because they’re lies you agree with?

You bleat at shearing time – like the other “sheep.”

ImNotTrue: “if we were talking about Limbaugh or Beck, Palin or Bachman… criticism of their looks is “enlightened” commentary.”

I seldom hear lefties talk about their looks. The discussion is usually more substantial than that – but you wouldn’t know because you didn’t bother to listen much before coming to your conclusion, did you?

“Rachel Maddow still has the most disturbingly thick neck I’ve ever seen on a woman. ”

You have the most disturbingly thick SKULL I’ve ever seen on a woman . . . or whatever you are.

“Has anyone ever heard the great Rachel Maddow appologize to ANYONE?”

She doesn’t have to, since she is courteous to guests of all political persuasions. Even Rand Paul, who put his foot in his mouth on her show, was gracious enough to admit she’d been fair to him.

Maddow pointed out the hypocrisy of Republicants in Congress who railed against the stimulus bill – THEN claimed credit for “bringing home the bacon” when stim $$$ went to their districts. That’s not “putting down” people; that’s exposing them for what they really are. In this case, frauds.

“Can you imagine what mainstream America might be without being bombarded with leftist ideology?”

What “bombardment”? Right-wingers occupy 90% of talk radio. With the exception of MSNBC, few true liberals are on TV on a regular basis.

We don’t have a leftist media; we have a CORPORATE media. Major corporations own and operate the large majority of media outlets. The bias is theirs. The power is theirs. The loss is OURS.

A relatively modest number of radio stations carry progressives like Thom Hartmann and Stephanie Miller – not because they aren’t or wouldn’t be popular, but because corporate conglomerates control what gets on-the-air in the FIRST place.

I don’t care what Sarah Palin looks like; I care that she’s a thimble-brain. Listening closely to what she says reveals her vapidity and shallowness. Some viewers may be so taken with her looks that they fail to notice she often doesn’t make rhetorical or rational sense.

Search a Fox “reporter” – male or female – on the MediaMatters.org site and you’ll find dozens of examples of proven false claims, factual errors or otherwise dubious information emanating from that person.

You can go on about Kelly being a lawyer, but Maddow is a DOCTOR – a Ph.D in poli sci, Oxford, and a Rhodes scholar. She’s as qualified – if not more so – than anyone on Fox.

Q: “What comes between David Vitter and his prostitutes?”

    A: “Depends.”

All these comments regarding Rachel Maddow’s appearance, past and present reminds me of the hatred spewed by Keith Olbermann on 10/13/09 regarding Michelle Malkin; “mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick on it.” Oh, and it reminds of this newspaper editorial cartoon of Condoleeza Rice: http://naproom.mu.nu/pics/racistcondi2.jpg. Oh and there’s this little gem regarding Ms. Rice: http://michellemalkin.cachefly.net/michellemalkin.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/condicartoon_1.jpg. Insults directed at a person’s appearance aren’t appropriate regardless of where they originate and to whom they are directed. John McCain: GOP Has To ‘Give Americans A Reason To Be For Us’

    video

Apparently now that he has defeated dogged opponent J.D. Hayworth in the senate primary it is safe for the old John McCain to raise his head again. McCain popped up on Fox News Sunday this morning and essentially told Chris Wallace that if the GOP intends to make permanent inroads in the midterms this fall it needs to be something other than the party of No.

Just days after President Obama declared Operation Iraqi Freedom officially over, former Prime Minister Tony Blair is jumping into the media fray with his new memoir 'A Journey: My Political Life,' which delves into his controversial decision to bring Britain into the Iraq War. Says Blair: "I think a lot of people don't understand that this is a generational-long struggle."
