Ted Cruz Blows Up at CNBC Questioning: ‘This is Not a Cage Match!’

Ted Cruz ended up going off on the media and the CNBC moderators tonight after being asked a question about getting things done in Congress. The Texas senator accused them of trying to get the candidates to tear into each other instead of asking questions of substance.

“The questions asked in this debate illustrate why the American people don’t trust the media,” Cruz said. From there, Cruz attacked the moderators for asking Donald Trump if he is a “comic book president,” and for other questions like why Jeb Bush‘s numbers have fallen and Marco Rubio won’t resign from the Senate.

“How about talking about the substantive issues?” Cruz asked.

After Quintanilla reminded him to answer the question, Cruz continued to slam the media for fawning over the “Bolsheviks and the Menchavicks” of the Democratic debate, when they should be asking about the experience of the Republican candidates.

“The questions being asked shouldn’t be trying to get people to tear into each other,” Cruz said. From there, Cruz tried to answer the question, but Quintanilla declared that his time had expired, and moved on to Rand Paul.
