This Exists: Florida Dealership Will Give You A Free AK-47 If You Buy A Truck

AK-47If you’re looking for a new truck, you might also be in the market for an assault rifle. That’s the idea behind a new promotion at a truck dealership in Sanford, Florida, which gifts all new truck buyers with a $400 voucher to a local gun shop.

The Associated Press reports that once customers pass a background check, they have the option of using the voucher to purchase an AK-47 or another firearm. Alternately, they can request a $400 check instead. The promotion began—when else?—on Veteran’s Day.

According to Nick Ginetta, the dealership’s general sales manager, the deal has so far been a great success—in the last four days, his business has more than doubled. And though the AP writes that the dealership “has fielded some complaints about the deal,” Ginetta assures that the right people aren’t offended by it: “My buyer is absolutely a gun owner, no question,” he says.

I think they did this last year too

Guns, turning your opponents childhood memories of looking up at the stars… into chunks of meat on the pavement.

Witht the HSA and other US gummint agencies hiring overtime to staff up for the HUGE intrusion of Fed lunacy into our lives, I’m gonna get an AK-47 ASAP before they come to take my worldly goods away via the IRS. And the people who should come to take Jonathan Martin, Politico loon, away are wearing white coats and coming in black helicopters…!

Last year it was a car dealer in the Midwest I think.

I have no problem with this deal. The buyer still has to so the required federal paperwork at the fun store and pass a background check. Plus cars and trucks kill way more people than guns – even semi-automatic rifles.

Gun store not fun store. Although…….

    Giving away AK-47s?

Face it, it’s not the men who drive $45,000 pickup trucks who are filling up our county jails and state prisons.

    Pretty close.

Common sense says that what disenlightened said is true. The people that are busting their butts to pay for that $45,000.00 truck over the course of 72 or 84 months are not the same people that are occupying our penal institutions.
I chose to get a pistol when my local Ford dealer made a similar offer. Already owned the AK.

A lot of hard work and a great credit score.

Why would anyone need an AK? Compensate for the lack of something?

Why not have an AK? It is just a semi-automatic rifle.

Plus, Chuck has a valid point. The folks buying a new truck at an actual dealership are also the same good law-abiding folks that buy their guns at the gun dealer, do the federal paperwork and never commit a crime.

Did you know that firearms are the ONLY consumer product that requires federal approval for each consumer sale? Yep. The customer has to be approved by the feds. In fact, there are no less than 4 federal approval/license points along the line from manufacture to final sale:

    1) The manufacturer is required to be licensed and to maintain a database of all serial numbers produced. All firearms must have unique serial numbers. They also need a license to ship them interstate.

    2) The distributor needs a federal license to receive and ship said firearms from manufacturers and to dealers. The manufacturer must verify this license with each shipment.

    3) The gun store/dealer must have a federal license to receive and sell/transfer said firearms. The distributor must verify this license with each shipment.

    4) The final consumer must complete federal form 4473 and pass a federal background check (NICS) for each firearm. The dealer must obtain this approval and must keep a paper file of these forms as a condition of their license. The dealer must also maintain inventory records in a federally approved and inspected manner.

    Fun facts from my world.

Doesn’t really answer the question. Is it the weapon of choice for hunting or home defense?

To protect themselves from your relatives, I suppose.

Possible I guess, but highly unlikely.

This time last year, four police officers were ambushed and murdered in my immediate neighborhood. Four trained, professional police officers gone in seconds paulmdoro, at the whim of some ass-hat that is unhappy with his miserable life. Just before and just after, two additional police officers were murdered within miles of that incident.
I am prepared, as best as I can be to defend my family and my neighbors.

It is good for both. It makes a good hunting gun since it is almost impervious to dirt and a solid home defense gun since it tends to send the bad guys running.

At the end of the day, it is simply a semi-auto rifle all dressed up.

  • ChuckfromTacoma

In all fairness to proper arms, nothing instills more fear in the heart of a home invader than the sound a shot gun makes when racking a round in the chamber. A beautiful sound that may save you from ever having to shoot.

Sure, why not…it is just a gun, not only that I believe it was a gift certificate to a local gun store.

Remember Guns do not kill people…people with guns, knives, cars and you name it kill people.

  • Probably NOT wrong

A damn good and a damn effective promotion according
    to all reports.
    Free Consultation to MSNBC Mgt.
Contact and hire the same AD Agency this dealership uses.

    No pun intended :-))

Getting a $400 gift certificate for a rifle is an awful lot like getting a $400 rebate, or a $400 discount, or a $400 savings bond.

If someone wants to spend the money on a rifle, or a pistol, or a racquetball racquet, how does that become newsworthy? You people are so afraid of guns. You should be afraid of the people who commit crimes with them.

Ahhhh, but that’s not so funny, is it?

It’s really sad that you can find humor in criminal behavior. People lose loved ones: fathers, mothers, children, and neighbors, due to actions of criminals, yet you poke fun at someone who wants to encourage responsible gun ownership. You are a bunch of sick bastards.

  • jbanks

While looking for a New Jersey Truck Dealer in my area I found this site. I would take the $400 rebate instead!
