Trump: CNN Made ‘Vicious and Purposeful Mistake’ With Botched WikiLeaks Report

You just knew that after CNN had to correct its botched report on the Trump campaign and organization receiving an email providing access to hacked WikiLeaks documents, President Donald Trump would be all over the network that he has consistently called “Fake News.” And it didn’t take him long, as he used his Pensacola rally Friday night to take shots at the cable news channel as he sarcastically thanked CNN for issuing a correction.
This morning, the president added piled onto his criticism of the network, claiming that the misreporting of the email’s date was a “vicious and purposeful mistake” on CNN’s part. He also wondered if the network would punish the reporters involved while referencing ABC News’ Brian Ross, who was recently suspended for his own botched reporting.
Fake News CNN made a vicious and purposeful mistake yesterday. They were caught red handed, just like lonely Brian Ross at ABC News (who should be immediately fired for his “mistake”). Watch to see if @CNN fires those responsible, or was it just gross incompetence?

Trump also tossed out a Huckabee-level joke about CNN’s ‘Most Trusted Name in News’ slogan:
CNN’S slogan is CNN, THE MOST TRUSTED NAME IN NEWS. Everyone knows this is not true, that this could, in fact, be a fraud on the American Public. There are many outlets that are far more trusted than Fake News CNN. Their slogan should be CNN, THE LEAST TRUSTED NAME IN NEWS!

It should be noted that CNN corrected its report once they were able to confirm that they had been given erroneous information from its sources. Also, a CNN spokesperson stated that the reporters who authored the story would not face disciplinary action because they followed the proper editorial process and were given incorrect information from multiple sources.
