Trump on U.S. Consumer Confidence Hitting a 15-Year High: ‘Thanks Donald!’
President-elect Donald Trump tonight took credit for the U.S. Consumer Confidence Index hitting a 15 year high by, well, thanking himself:
The U.S. Consumer Confidence Index for December surged nearly four points to 113.7, THE HIGHEST LEVEL IN MORE THAN 15 YEARS! Thanks Donald!

This is on the heels of a similar tweet from Trump yesterday:
The world was gloomy before I won – there was no hope. Now the market is up nearly 10% and Christmas spending is over a trillion dollars!

But thanking himself in that third-person manner was a bit too much for some:
It takes some serious balls to thank yourself in a tweet. Well done. https://t.co/8Nmbd85cNF

You thanked yourself in the third person. Self-awareness fail. https://t.co/hHaxUgx11G

My confidence about the U.S.'s future plunged in December, to the lowest level in 41 years. Thanks Donald! https://t.co/CFj9GXuWxq

“Thanks Donald!” Narcissist in Chief is now thanking himself for things he had nothing to do with. @realDonaldTrump https://t.co/EtDyPrKhuO

Trump might be kicking off his own version of “Thanks Obama” here––a phrase that President Obama himself used during a campaign rally a few months ago while touting his own accomplishments.
