Trump Says He Would Have ‘No Problem’ Meeting With Kim Jong Un
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee today said he is perfectly willing to meet one-on-one with Kim Jong Un.
In an interview with Reuters, Trump talked a lot about his foreign policy views, but didn’t get too specific on North Korea.
He did indicate, however, he would be willing to meet with the North Korean leader, saying, “I would speak to him, I would have no problem speaking to him… At the same time I would put a lot of pressure on China because economically we have tremendous power over China.”
Now, as you can imagine, the reactions to this will be interesting to watch, given how fiercely Republicans would react if President Obama said the same thing.
One of Trump’s surrogates, Senator Jeff Sessions, said on CNN today that he’s open to the idea, but he’s not sure anything positive will come of it.
