Trump Transition Team Recommends Former Goldman Sachs Banker As Treasury Secretary
According to Bloomberg Politics, President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team has recommended former Goldman Sachs banker Steven Mnuchin to be Treasury Secretary.
Mnuchin previously served the finance chairman of the Trump campaign. Since leaving Goldman Sachs in the early 2000s, he’s devoted much of his time to film production, producing big-budget films like Suicide Squad and Mad Max: Fury Road.

Throughout the campaign, Mnuchin’s name was floated as a potential Treasury pick. However, shortly after the election, JPMorgan chief Jamie Dimon was rumored as being the Trump team’s choice.
While one of Trump’s main messages during the campaign was that he’d ‘Drain the Swamp’ in Washington, many of his early choices for his staff are considered DC and Wall Street insiders.
