Tucker Carlson: Assault Weapon Is a ‘Made-up Term’
During a segment on a gun shop owner who was allegedly forced to surrender records of his customers to police after he mistakenly sold illegally-modified AR-15s, Fox & Friends Weekend host Tucker Carlson disputed the term “assault weapon.”
“We should be clear for our viewers that ‘assault weapon’ is a made-up term and there really is no such thing as assault weapon,” he said. (Rumors that all terms are made up went unconfirmed at press time.) NY Safe, the law the store was accused of violating, defines assault weapons on its website.
Carlson sympathized with the store owner, but also chastised him for turning over the records at all. “If I were one of your customers, I gotta be honest, I’d be very upset that you gave my name over to the cops,” Carlson said.
Tucker Carlson is a made-up name.
