Which Lawmaker Called Sen. Gillibrand ‘Chubby’? We Have a Suspect
Since Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) caused a stir last month when her new book alleged several incidences of fellow congressman commenting on her weight and appearance — including one senator who told her during her pregnancy to keep some of the weight as he liked his women “chubby” — she has been under obnoxious pressure to name names — something Gillibrand has resisted.

But in the New York Times’ just-launched First Draft political newsletter, a suspect is finally named. Several sources — speaking on the condition of anonymity, natch — have named the above perpetrator as the late Senator Daniel Inouye of Hawaii. The Times reminded us that Inouye, a decorated war veteran and long-serving, high ranking senator, also was the subject of sexual assault accusations in the early 90s. Inouye passed away in 2012.
Gillibrand’s office didn’t confirm or deny, but the Times noted that her book spoke highly of Inouye.
