Reader Calls Out WaPo Columnist for Comparing Ray Rice to Fred Flintstone
A few days ago, Washington Post columnist Sally Jenkins wrote a scathing takedown of Stephen A. Smith‘s comments regarding Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, and the nature of domestic abuse. However, she maligned one innocent party in her column, and pro-cavemen activist Martin Kramer of Takoma Park, MD called her out.
“Sally Jenkins described the reprehensible actions of Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice as “going all Flintstone on his wife,'” Kramer wrote in a letter to the editor. “Fred Flintstone had his faults, but he loved and respected his wife, Wilma, often referring to her as his queen.”
“What Mr. Rice did could perhaps qualify as a stereotype of caveman behavior, Ms. Jenkins, but yabba dabba don’t lump Fred Flintstone in with that type of behavior,” he added.
