Donald Trump‘s ex-girlfriend spoke out on Fox & Friends Monday morning after her story appeared as part of a New York Times story detailing Trump’s troubling interactions with women, protesting that the Times spun her words to attack Trump.
In the Times piece, Rowanne Brewer Lane tells the story of first meeting Trump, in what the paper called “a debasing face-to-face encounter between Mr. Trump and a young woman he hardly knew.”
He suddenly took me by the hand, and he started to show me around the mansion. He asked me if I had a swimsuit with me. I said no. I hadn’t intended to swim. He took me into a room and opened drawers and asked me to put on a swimsuit… He brought me out to the pool and said, ‘That is a stunning Trump girl, isn’t it?’
But in the interview with Fox, Brewer Lane said that her words were taken out of context. “The New York Times told us several times that they would make sure that my story that I was telling came across…” she said. “They told me several times and my manager several times that it would not be a hit piece and that my story would come across the way that I was telling it and honestly, and it absolutely was not.”
“They spun it to where it appeared negative,” Brewer Lane continued. “I did not have a negative experience with Donald Trump.”

“The part where I went back out to the pool party and he made a comment ‘Now that’s a stunning Trump girl,’ I was actually flattered by. I didn’t feel like it was a demeaning situation or comment at all, and that’s what I told the Times,” she insisted.
Trump took to Twitter shortly afterwards to crow about the interview.
Wow, Rosanne Brewer Lane, the most prominently depicted women in the failing @nytimes story yesterday,is on @foxandfriends saying Times lied

That was an amazing interview on @foxandfriends – I hope the rest of the media picks it up to show how totally dishonest the @nytimes is!

The @nytimes is so dishonest. Their hit piece cover story on me yesterday was just blown up by Roseanne Brewer, who said it was a lie!
